Welcome to the June 15, 2007 edition of men’s gift ideas.
We got a couple of submissions this time. Please take a minute to check out Kelby and Zach’s thoughts. This Blog carnival runs twice a month, assuming we get submissions. If you have a blog and want to participate, just write a post about the world of men’s gifts. It can be anything. Use the link at the bottom to submit it; it’s that easy!
Kelby Carr presents Father’s Day Gifts Dads Really Want posted at Tiki RSS feed for the wiki pages, saying, “Father’s day is quickly approaching and before any of you women out there start shopping for gifts, I hope you will read this. I know I’ll probably get some backlash for this and, it’s possible I might deserve a little bit of it. But I know the fathers of the world will agree with me, maybe not vocally, but in their hearts. Here are Father’s Day gift ideas that don’t suck.”
Zack Johnston presents Desk-top Beach Vacation (a great Father’s Day gift!) posted at IdeaNerd, saying, “A great homemade gift!”
That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of men’s gift ideas using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.

OK, another new thing I’m doing. It’s called a blog carnival. Basically, I’ve invited other bloggers to write about men’s gifts so we can get more perspective on the subject from others. I had a short deadline for the first one, so I only got one submission, but hopefully this’ll grow in the future. Be sure to check out Kevin’s post below.
Kevin Heath presents Fathers Day Gift Ideas Dad Will Love posted at More4kids.
So there you have it. If you have a blog, and want to be featured here, just write a post about a great men’s gift idea, something given or received. Submit your blog article to the next edition of men’s gift ideas using our carnival submission form.
Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.

Here is a new thing I’m going to try. I see posts on all kinds of different blogs. Some of their stuff is really cool, and works well as a men’s gift. So, rather than keep these to myself, my new Friday feature will provide links to some of the best stuff I saw for the previous week. What do you think?

Check out this post and product review of an introductory home coffee roaster. Many guys drink coffee. Lots of guys drink lots of coffee. Me included. Also, with all of the recent antioxidant information about coffee, the market is surging again. Everyone buys ready-to-go coffee from the grocery store. When you’re ready to step it up, you get a little hand held grinder and start buying whole bean coffee. The next step would be buying green coffee and roasting your own. Now, I’ve never done this, but this post on the Cool Tool blog is quite compelling. If you have a guy that loves coffee, this just may be an excellent gift idea for him.

So remember our Duct Tape Wallet? Well now it appears that there is a kit available for the do-it-yourself-er. In fact, it’s gotten an extensive review on the OhGizmo! blog. The review does a great job of demonstrating the creation process, as well as point out some pros and cons of the product. This looks like a neat little project to keep him busy for a little while. Check out the review here.

Who says men are hard to buy for? Here is a guy who is beside himself just because his wife/girlfriend(?) took his car and had a professional car wash done. Check out his post.
Do we all get way too hung up trying to find the perfect gift, and forget the truly simple stuff? If you read his post, you’ll agree that there isn’t much that would have made him happier. Admittedly, this could backfire for certain guys that are so picky about their car that they would pick apart every last detail. But there’s got to be plenty of things along this same line that would work. How about a free weekend, where you hire someone to do yard work for him so he can lay in the hammock he never uses? Invite his friends over and throw him a poker night. Just serve drinks for them all night.
What other things would you suggest?

CrzyLand is one of my favorite blogs. Nic posts strange news stories, odd items, and other editorials that just make you think. Every once in awhile, he posts something that’s right up our alley.
Check out his post about Spudz. This is an item that every guy can use. Small, and compact, Spudz house a small microfiber cloth that is perfect for cleaning your sunglasses, cell phone, digital camera; whatever. Check it out.
