Notice how watches are touted as being thin and lightweight? Well, here is one of the more unique men’s watches I’ve seen. The Steinhausen Beethoven Skeleton Automatic Watch is a brilliant piece of art. The design leaves many of the internal gears visible, which to me is so cool. But what is really unique about this one, is its thick. Actually, it’s over a half an inch thick. Totally masculine! I’m not sure why it’s called the Beethoven, I doubt he had one like this, but if your man is into really interesting unique watches, you may want to check this one out. You’ll also be surprised by its relatively low cost! Click here for more information.

Hey All, I wanted to direct your attention to our new sponsor, Energy This. If your man is into the whole energy drink craze, like so many of us are, he’s probably spending a fortune on them. Energy This is the store for you. Buy in bulk and save. Plus they’ve got free shipping on all orders! Or get him a gift certificate.
On a side note, Brock, the guy at Energy This, was telling me about his girlfriend getting him tickets to a Florida State football game for his birthday. I asked Brock if this was out of character for her. His response was: “Let’s just say I’ve dated her for 2.5 years and we’ve been to one football game because we got free tickets to a NFL game in Tampa. She tolerates the Saturday football games, but by no means is she a HUGE football fan. I was extremely surprised.”
So, lets all give a cheer for Brock’s girlfriend. She has made excellent use of men’s gifts rule #7.

Here is a unique gift for the serious golf fan. He may already have everything else golf related imaginable, but this will look great in his office or den. This is a framed copy of the 13 rules for the first recorded golf competition. Not only is this a stylish gift, but it’s pretty interesting as well. Click here for more information.
There is nothing, I mean nothing, more manly than the primal ability to build a fire to keep the family warm. The ability to conjure and control fire is arguably THE reason man was able to evolve. So, things for the fire place are excellent examples of gifts that satisfy men’s gift rule #8.
I like this set. Choose either the bucket or match holder, or both! Available in antique copper or polished brass, these hammered metal containers are excellent gifts for him. The match holder comes with 120 long matches. The bucket is filled with five pounds of Fatwood, an instant 100% natural fire starter. In fact, he’ll like the Fatwood so much; you may want to get some extra!

No really officer, I only had one glass of wine. Men like stuff big. Big burgers, kegs of beer, and monster trucks. So if he’s a wine drinker, at least get him a real man’s wine glass. This seamless, mouth-blown Italian glass is not just a novelty. It is actually an excellent piece of glassware, it just happens to be super sized. It’ll hold an entire bottle of wine. In fact, it’ll hold two liters of liquid. It goes great with that giant lighter we’ve seen around. Click here for more information.
This guy totally looks like my neighbor. We’ve talked in depth about the importance of every guy having a man room; a room where he can decorate any way he wants. No matter what his feelings are about Budweiser, any guy can appreciate these vintage styled pub signs. The beer itself is in 3D! Three to choose from, check them out! Click here for more information.
Themed games are a great way to put a new spin on an old favorite. Chances are he hasn’t played chess in awhile. Maybe this year is the time to teach it to his kids. Get him excited with this great set. This hand-painted cast resin deluxe set pits the police against the firemen for a friendly match. With an all-wood board and felt based pieces, this set is beautiful enough to display, but even more fun to play. Click here for more information.
Well, it must be October. I’ve noticed for the last week that my mailbox has gradually gotten fuller and fuller. It started out gradual; one here one there. But one day last week I counted six catalogs in the mail on the same day. Now don’t get me wrong, I love it. For a guy that writes a shopping blog, it’s the best time of the year.
It got me curious though. With the internet, and all it has to offer, do people still shop from catalogs? Do you enjoy going through the catalogs in the mail as much as I? Or do they just get thrown away? Let me know what you think.
Anyway, get ready for more great gift ideas from The Men’s Gift Guide. We are starting to hit the biggest gift giving time of the year!
