I’ll confess to being a beer guy. I’ll drink wine, but not regularly, and other than rum, I’m not into most hard stuff. Beer is simple, easy, and always available.
I’ve often thought about trying to make my own. Problem is, there seems to be huge start up cost, plus it looks confusing. Ever go to a home brew store? They got these huge glass jars, lots of coiled up tubing, different kinds of grains and hops, and on and on and on. Whoa, step back. Can’t I just start simple.
Now, I haven’t tried it, but The Beer Machine seems like a really interesting way to get your feet wet. With four different models available, surely one will work for him. The directions seem simple enough. Add water. Add a beer mix. Seal it up and wait 7-10 days. Honestly, I really have a hard time believing it’s that simple. Could it be? Are you listening beer machine guys? I’d really like to try it out!
Beyond the machine, there are lots of different mixes to try out. So whether he likes dark, light, or any beer in between you can find something for his taste. Each batch makes 28 12oz servings. Most of the mixes appear to be around $25-$30 for a three pack of mixes. So, assuming $10 a batch, and 28 beers a batch, that’s around $.36 a beer. When’s the last time you got a draft beer for 35 cents? I’m beginning to really hope this thing works.
