I’m a big guy. Six foot five. 200+ pounds. Those little pretty towels that my wife has in the bathroom just don’t cut it, like trying to soak up a bathtub with a Bounty.

I used to use big beach towels after my shower, but, well after I got married, that went away. So now I use this huge bath sheet that my wife got me a few years ago. It’s just a regular bath towel, but is about six feet long. Perfect for me.

We talk a lot about cuff links. And while they are one of the hottest men’s accessories going right now, they pose quite a travel problem. I end up throwing them in my toiletries kit. You’ve heard of man laws. Maxim magazine did them for awhile, and one of the beer companies had commercials with a bunch of guys discussing what the man laws should be. Well, here is my man law: never open a bottle of beer with the back end of a corkscrew. Get him a real bottle opener; especially if he likes higher end beers. Of course, if he likes lower-end beers with the twist-off caps, then his belly button will continue to be an acceptable opening device.

Do you know how much golf lessons are? For a really good teacher, it can be $100 an hour or more. It’s amazing to me how they can watch you hit, and tell you what you did wrong on every swing. As I see it, there are two fundamental problems with golf lessons: you need many lessons before any real progress can be made (i.e. lots of money), and the teacher can’t be with you all the time. It’s happened to me so many times. The food is prepped, the drinks are poured, and the friends have arrived. Everyone is ready for a cook out. You light the grill and nothing. The gas is empty. Hang on everyone, I’ll be right back. Really puts a damper on the party.

Now I’ve used the little magnet thing that sticks to the side of the tank. The changing colors are supposed to show the amount of gas left. Yeah, doesn’t work. They also say that you can pour hot water down the side of the tank. The spot where it begins to feel cold is where the gas starts. Who does that?
