I’m a big guy. Six foot five. 200+ pounds. Those little pretty towels that my wife has in the bathroom just don’t cut it, like trying to soak up a bathtub with a Bounty.

I used to use big beach towels after my shower, but, well after I got married, that went away. So now I use this huge bath sheet that my wife got me a few years ago. It’s just a regular bath towel, but is about six feet long. Perfect for me.

If your guy has similar issues, this may be a great gift for him. These luxurious Fattowels are meant for the pool, but there is no reason they can’t be used in the shower also. Personalized or not, this thick towel will become his favorite right away. Click here for more information

So, this is a funny looking thing. But, really helpful. The Swiss army knife went through a business transformation. This is actually an all in one business tool for guys on the go. The Swiss Business Tool combines six handy tools in one small gadget. Features a flat-clinch stapler, stapler remover, and spot for extra staples. Advanced high-performance scissors cut all the way to the tip, while the hole punch is robust enough to handle 20 sheets at a time. An optical gauge assists with punching in the right spot. Unique Gift For Men: Travel Men’s Valet

Posted by Justin   5/29/07 at 10:12 am Gift Ideas          Comments (0)   | Trackback

We talk a lot about cuff links. And while they are one of the hottest men’s accessories going right now, they pose quite a travel problem. I end up throwing them in my toiletries kit. This, admittedly, can’t be good for them. They are, after all, pieces of jewelry. I’m sure I’ll end up breaking one sooner or later if I don’t change my ways.

This is what I need. This Men’s Travel Valet is perfect for men on the go. It safely carries three sets of cuff links and has slots for two pairs of collar stays. Leather exterior with faux-suede interior, it has a magnetic closure and may personalized. Choose black or olive. Click here for more information

Unique Gift For Men: Harley Davidson Collector Tankards

Posted by Justin   5/28/07 at 10:58 am Gift Ideas          Comments (0)   | Trackback

Men like to collect things too. You’ve just got to find something that matches his taste. Some guys may collect football jerseys; some may collect fishing lures. Either way, find him something he likes, and give him a place to put them, and I bet he’ll enjoy it. Just a note, don’t call it his collection, or his hobby. It’ll probably turn him off.

Incidentally, you don’t have to own a motorcycle to enjoy Harley-Davidson stuff. Here is a great little collection to get him started on. These Harley-Davidson Collector Tankards are beautifully illustrated, each with a different model bike. Put them together with this attractive display case, and it’s ready to hang at home or at the office. Reasonably priced at $45 each for the tankards, and $90 for the display, this is a really nice collection that won’t break the bank. Bonus, plan to give him the whole collection over time and you’re set for the next seven gift giving occasions! Click here for more information

Unique Gift For Men: Stadium Bottle Opener

Posted by Justin   5/25/07 at 10:06 am Gift Ideas          Comments (2)   | Trackback

You’ve heard of man laws. Maxim magazine did them for awhile, and one of the beer companies had commercials with a bunch of guys discussing what the man laws should be. Well, here is my man law: never open a bottle of beer with the back end of a corkscrew. Get him a real bottle opener; especially if he likes higher end beers. Of course, if he likes lower-end beers with the twist-off caps, then his belly button will continue to be an acceptable opening device.

Remember the stadium cufflinks? Well, along the same lines are these ball park bottle openers. Made with reclaimed wood from the actual parks, these are an awesome way to pop a brew. Choose from Busch Stadium, Comiskey Park, Dodger Stadium, and more. Yes, they have corkscrews too. Whatever. Click here for more information

Unique Gift For Men: Golf Swing Analyzing Watch

Posted by Justin   5/24/07 at 10:40 am Gift Ideas          Comments (0)   | Trackback

Do you know how much golf lessons are? For a really good teacher, it can be $100 an hour or more. It’s amazing to me how they can watch you hit, and tell you what you did wrong on every swing. As I see it, there are two fundamental problems with golf lessons: you need many lessons before any real progress can be made (i.e. lots of money), and the teacher can’t be with you all the time. It’s up to you to remember what they told you and practice the right way. Trust me, easier said than done.

The Golf Swing Analyzing Watch might be one of the coolest and most advanced golfing aids I’ve seen. Three internal accelerometers measure the tempo, rhythm, backswing length, and the club-head speed of your swing. Results are displayed instantly. So, once you know what is required for you to hit the perfect shot, you will know right away what went wrong. It has separate settings for tee-shots, fairway-shots, and for putts. Will also keep score, handicap, and remember the different measurements for each club in your bag. Believe it or not, it even keeps time!! At a mere fraction of the cost of formal lessons, this teacher is with you everyday, every swing. Click here for more information

Unique Gift For Men: Propane Gauge

Posted by Justin   5/23/07 at 10:20 am Gift Ideas          Comments (0)   | Trackback

It’s happened to me so many times. The food is prepped, the drinks are poured, and the friends have arrived. Everyone is ready for a cook out. You light the grill and nothing. The gas is empty. Hang on everyone, I’ll be right back. Really puts a damper on the party.

Now I’ve used the little magnet thing that sticks to the side of the tank. The changing colors are supposed to show the amount of gas left. Yeah, doesn’t work. They also say that you can pour hot water down the side of the tank. The spot where it begins to feel cold is where the gas starts. Who does that?

This little gadget will help insure your party is never ruined. Get him this propane gauge. The color coded refill indicator shows him plainly when it’s running low. It installs in seconds without tools and has a built in leak detector. Pair it with the grill light and you’ll always be ready to fire up the grill. Click here for more information

Unique Gift For Men: Frank Gehry Word Wristwatch

Posted by Justin   5/22/07 at 10:51 am Gift Ideas          Comments (0)   | Trackback

Remember our word clock? Well here is another take on that idea in wristwatch form. This guy designed a watch that displays the time in his own handwriting. Hey, maybe I’ll start publishing this blog in a font of my own handwriting! Yeah, except that I want you to continue reading. And you can’t read it if you …. uh …. can’t read it.

The watch also contains a calendar and a croco leather strap. Looks like Fossil has a couple different colors. The case is constructed of our favorite alloy, titanium.

Father’s Day 2007 - Unique Gift Ideas

Posted by Justin   5/21/07 at 8:22 am Thoughts          Comments (18)   | Trackback

Welcome to our 2007 version of Father’s Day Gift Ideas. Below are my top five choices for Dad, the king of hard-to-buy-for. Please, I beg of you, don’t believe him when he says that anything will be fine, or that he’ll like whatever you get him. It’s not true.

Dads love to be WOW-ed. When buying for him, always be looking for something that’ll make him say, “cool” or “neat”. Appeal to his inner child and give him something to play with, put together, or show off to his friends.

Harley Stock1. Share of Stock. So, he’s bought so many different golf clubs, putters, balls, and shoes that he ought to own the company. Well this is the year that you’ll give it to him! Oneshare.com is one if the most interesting companies I’ve come across in years. You choose a company, recipient, and personalized message, and they send you a framed, actual stock certificate. Choose from many of his favorite companies such as: Harley Davidson, Callaway Golf, Playboy, World Wrestling Entertainment, and more. Choose one of their suggested sayings (Harleys don’t leak oil, they mark their territory) or write your own. Pick a frame, and you’re done. One very personalized, very unique gift. Click here for more information.

Las Vegas Slot Machine2. Skill Stop Slot Machine. We’ve talked about these a few times, but they continue to get hotter and hotter. Men love games; that’s why poker is so popular. These slot machines are the next big thing in gaming. These are real slot machines that were actually used in international casinos. When they are retired (which is anywhere from 1 month to 2 years of use) they are refurbished in the US and sold for home use. A brand new one of these sells for over $3,000, but surprisingly enough, you can get one starting at a couple hundred dollars. There are so many titles available, you’re sure to find one that piques his interest. Click here for available titles.

The Drink Tender3. The Drink Tender. This is the perfect gift for a guy that likes to entertain. Whether it’s inviting the guys over for a game of cards, a BBQ, or to watch the big game, he’s always having to get up and get someone a fresh beer. Well not anymore. Now everyone can be their own bartender. Enter The Drink Tender. This bad boy holds 80 oz. of his favorite brew. The center column is actually a removable ice chamber that keeps everything cold. Now, if we can only get someone to invent the pizza tender. Click here for ordering information.

Poker Humidor4. Personalized Humidor. These guys have been an absolute hit since their introduction. These personalized humidors match our popular lines of pub signs, coasters, and beer steins. Even if he is just an occasional smoker, he’ll love having a place to keep his stash of smokes. These well-crafted humidors are illustrated with your choice of 24 stunning designs. There is something here for anyone’s interests, from poker and billiards, to the biker or beach bum. There are even some for true cigar aficionados. One of these personalized humidors will be an excellent addition to his study or office. Click here to see all 24 designs.

Titanium Ring5. Titanium Rings. Titanium is the new definition of cool when it comes to men’s jewelry. Titanium is strong, durable, and light-weight. Plus it looks great. There are lots of designs to choose from. Now you’d think that jewelry made from an aerospace metal would be way too much for your budget, but these are actually surprisingly inexpensive. For instance, the ring shown is only $109. My favorite places to get these are JustMetal and Titanium Concepts.

When buying for dad, remember, his just a big kid at heart. Any of these gifts are sure to be a big hit.

Unique Gift For Men: Nothing

Posted by Justin   5/18/07 at 10:41 am Gift Ideas          Comments (0)   | Trackback

This’ll teach him. The next time he gives you that line about not knowing what he wants, and not to worry about getting him anything, get him Nothing.
I employ you to use this with caution and as a gag gift only. In case you hadn’t yet figured it out, he doesn’t want nothing. He just doesn’t know what it is. So give him this first, smile to yourself as his face melts with disappointment, and then pull out the dynamite gift you have in reserve. Click here for more information
