Golden Tee has to be the most famous bar game of all time. For those of you who haven’t heard of it, Golden Tee is a full size arcade machine that has ultra-realistic golf play. In most places, all of the machines are linked together to allow for tournament play between different taverns, etc. Anyway, it’s not uncommon to see a bunch of guys huddled around the game and cheering each other on.

There was even a commercial on TV with Phil Mickelson playing in a bar and letting the FootJoy guy mess up a shot for him.

So, now that game can be enjoyed at home. I found this in the Brookstone catalog for $60. This is a unit that plugs directly into your TV. It has all the familiar trackball control that any gamer has mastered (or hopes to).

Found this cool pocket knife at Norm Thompson. Talk about unique. The knife handle is actually made from a petrified piece of brontosaurus bone! Make no mistake about it, shaving is not fun. Almost any man would rather skip it today than deal with it. For years, I’ve used an electric razor. I just wanted to get it done quick so I could get on with the rest of my day. Sure, the job was done quick, but I always was uncomfortable. Especially under my neck. I always had red bumps that burned. No amount of “non-alcoholic soothing after shave” could help.

It all started when I stopped believing in Santa. Since then,each
and every October my mother has asked me the exact same question: “What
do you want for Christmas?”. And every October I have given her the
exact same answer: “I don’t know.”. I believe that it is universally
accepted that men are the hardest people to buy gifts for. Some men may
be easier than others. If they have a strong hobby or interest, with
infinite accessories available, gifts can possibly flow easily. Even in
this case, gifts can get predictable and boring. I decided it was time
to do something about it.

So I did two things. I started my own online mens gift shop, The Round Table.
My goal here was to find unique gift items that men would like and you
could be proud to give. I’m always updating and adding new items in a
wide range of categories.

Second, I started this blog, The Men’s Gift Guide. I will use the
blog to introduce new items, and give gift ideas both from my store,
and from wherever else I can find them. I scour every catalog and
magazine that I can get my hands on will post gift ideas from all over
that may be of interest. I will give impartial product reviews and
answer questions you may have about giving gifts to men.

I certainly hope this blog will be interactive, with others
posting reviews, good or bad, giving suggestions, and asking questions.
